MoMo & WTIA Tie-Up for Hong-Kong

Finnish and Hong Kong mobile industry reps. signed a cooperation agreement on 13 May in Helsinki. The ceremony was witnessed by John Tsang, the Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by John Chiu, the chairman of Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Assoc. WTIA and Jari Tammisto, CEO of Mobile Monday Oy.

Finland and Hong Kong have an opportunity to create mobile platforms for wide markets, according to Tsang, the head of the visiting trade delegation. This is a very good beginning for larger and more active cooperation between our mobile industries. We can learn much from the well developed mobile field of Finland, Tsang said.

Mobile Monday (MoMo) is an open community platform of mobile industry visionaries, developers and influential individuals fostering brand neutral cooperation and cross-border business opportunites through live networking events to demo products, share ideas and discuss trends from both local and global markets. Originating in Helsinki Finland, in 2000, events are organized by some 300 dedicated volunteers. Mobile Monday Tokyo, launched September 2004, has become a key networking organization supporting the local mobile industry in Japan.
